A safe haven for your child
Located on the fifth floor, our bright, organized Materials Center houses donated natural and found objects, inspiring creativity and curriculum through daily teacher visits and child-led exploration in a Reggio Emilia–inspired environment.
Teachers and administrators attended lectures in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Beginnings Nursery School fosters curiosity, creativity, and collaboration in a nurturing environment. Through exploration of community and materials, children grow into confident, thoughtful learners with a lasting love of discovery.

Meet Our Director, LeeAnn V.
LeeAnn V has been part of the Beginnings community since 2004, holding various roles, including Director of Parent Relations and Special Events, Assistant Director, and Director since 2022. She holds a B.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in Drama and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood General and Special Education from Hunter College. LeeAnn is also a certified adult and children’s yoga instructor. She has taught drama and yoga in various schools and was the Lower School Drama teacher at Brooklyn Heights Montessori School. She has worked as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) and privately taught yoga to children with special needs. Additionally, LeeAnn has experience working with the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Outside of work, LeeAnn enjoys yoga, playing dress-up with her kids, cooking, and creating charcuterie plates to share with friends.
